Catching plant hazards before they injure someone
Safety reporting for manufacturing plants. Workers report a hazard from their phone by voice, photo or text, safety officers triage it in a web console, and managers are warned before a report misses its response deadline.
The problem
Hazards on a plant floor are easy to spot and easy to lose. A report needs to take seconds to file, reach the right person, and come with a deadline someone is answerable for.
What I built
- Lead six engineers across Austria and India: roadmap, architecture, sprint planning, and review of every merge.
- Architected and shipped all three surfaces: the NestJS API, the Next.js console for safety officers, and the Expo app for plant workers.
- Built the deadline-escalation engine that warns managers before a report breaches its response target.
- Built the LLM translation pipeline, with fallback between OpenRouter and Google, behind seven languages including right-to-left Arabic.
- Built the release pipeline in GitHub Actions: type checks, 57 unit tests, 16 integration suites against a real database, and releases to both app stores.
What changed
All three surfaces are live in production, the app is on the App Store and Google Play, and it works in seven languages.
